As seen on Facebook

Just thought i'd post my latest FB status

Alrighty, i gotta speak up and give people another perspective on something.. Some of my friends are posting some stuff about Walmart in a negative light, things such as having to work on Thanksgiving.

My husband is a manager at Walmart and has worked for them for 8 yrs. He started at the bottom and worked his way up. Yes, he works holidays. we find a way to make it work. We are thankful for every day that he has a job. We work around his schedule. We eat earlier or later, whatever is needed. in 2007 when i almost died from Diabetic Ketoacidosis and was hospitalized for over a week, Walmart gave my husband paid leave beyond what he earned. they paid MY hospital costs, INCLUDING THE 300 dollar CO-PAY. While i do understand what people are saying, remember there are those of us who appreciate what Walmart does. Of course, if you need to delete me for my opinion, then so be it.

how could I ever delete you??? I have always worked holidays having a job in a hospital and my husband has always worked holidays having a job for an airline...you make it work. We don't always celebrate on the actual 'day' but we always celebrate on a day when we are all able to be together as a family. At Christmas it works a little differently but I work swing and he nights so we still had time for the morning rituals. You just make it work...really it's not that hard. People need to settle down! It would be different if they were being forced to work and not being compensated but I don't think that's the case.

Delete you? NEVER!! Walmart paid our bills for quite a few years. Did I like working holidays? No, but if you work retail, it's a fact of life.
Love ya,
