Dear Santa, you look good in red.

Its all done except for the tree dismantling. Yes, Christmas 2010 is now in the history books. Scotty was given Christimas Eve off, so, since he works graveyard, this meant that he would be awake when everyone woke up Christmas Morning. Now that Jenny is 17, you'd think we would sleep in. NOPE! We still got up at the 'buttcrack of dawn'. Santa still ate his cookies and drank his milk.

After the presents were opened, I began to prepare for the inlaws arrival. I put the turkey in the oven. Oh, in our NEW oven. Our other one died a very slow 2 year death. We finally talked to the owner, and we got a new one. Its amazing, I can now boil water in 2 minutes, as opposed to the 15 minutes Its wonderful!

anyhow, the turkey was in the oven. I also made mashed potatoes, corn and biscuits. I did up a snack tray that Scotty usually manages to eat all by himself. It consists of Pepper Jack cheese, Mild Cheddar, Chick'n biscuit crackers, wheat thins, pepperoni and olives. Its a huge tray, but Scotty can put it away like he hasn't eaten in weeks.

The inlaws arrived at 1:30. Dinner was ready about 2. Perfectly timed. They ate, talked for a while, and then they headed for home. The one thing i love about my inlaws, is they never overstay their welcome. They gave us a bit of money, so Scotty and I headed to the casino to play for a bit. It was crowded, and, as usual, he ran out of money WAY too fast. I didn't lose anything, and managed to be about 40 dollars ahead, so it came home with me.

Its hard to believe that this will be Jenny's last Christmas as a 'child'. next year, she'll be 18, and will be an adult. But, as you know, she'll ALWAYS be my Jenny Punkin Pie. Time sure flies when you are raising kids. During the time you are raising them, you don't realize it, but it goes fast!

I'd like to wish you a very safe and Happy New Year. 2011 here I come!
