Its so hard to say goodbye

Its been a tough week for this old broad. I miss Monkey so much! Its difficult to get to sleep at night. I keep thinking of her. I cannot go into the garage to put our other cat, Henry J, away, because it reminds me that she's not there. The other day, i was sitting at my desk, when i heard Monkeys meow. She had a small, scratchy meow. I got up, without thinking, to let her in. When i got to the door, no one was there. Today, hub walked me down to where she is buried. i brought a can of her favorite food, Fancy Feast Chicken, and placed it by the headstones we put there. I miss her so much. I know she's better off, but well, to those of you that have lost a pet, you get me.

Thats it for today. i just need to get out of this gloomy gus mood. And for those of you that know me personally, i'm NEVER down in the dumps. This is all new to me. Which is surprising, since I've lost both of my parents, you'd think I'd be prepared. I even tried to visit the online site for people who've lost pets, Rainbowbridge.com.. I think it was too early for me to do something like that. It made me bawl like a baby. I'll probably try to revisit it when I'm feeling better. Here's something off their site, that is comforting to people like myself.
Here's a link. Really informative site

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
