My 15 minutes of fame!

October 26th was a night to remember.  For me anyway!

I was afforded the opportunity of a lifetime by Susan G Komen and the WWE (Wrestling).  Because i'm a 13 year survivor (hopefully headed into 14 years depending upon a clean 2nd MRI of a spot) i got to sit ringside at the taping of Monday Night RAW in San Diego.  to say that i was thrilled would be a great understatement.

I arrived at the Valley View Casino Center at 3pm for the VIP reception. Both parties held this for survivors and their guests.  They had a nice food spread, drinks, and some WWE superstars. This was exciting.  We met Titus O'neal and Darren Young who are the tag team Primetime Players.  Also, Dolph Ziggler was there as well.  We took advantage and got autographs and posed for pictures.

After that, the survivors were escorted into the ring to 'rehearse' what we were going to be doing.  We were going to be in the actual wrestling ring, surrounded by the WWE Superstars, and they were going to thank the WWE Universe for their support.  Since this was a rehearsal, we got to see the wrestlers standing around or rehearsing like regular everyday people.  Yes, i know they are, but i'm sure you understand!

After rehearsal we went back to the VIP reception.  Then they escorted us to our seats.  My seat was 2nd row on the far left behind the announcers table, which, trust me, was a great seat. Then the head Komen lady came to me, and said 'come with me'.  She led me the long way around the rows of seats, and sat me in the FRONT ROW CENTER behind the announcers! She knew how much i love wrestling!  To this day i still cannot wrap my head around any of this.

It was so exciting seeing all of these people, that i watch on TV live and up close.

Then, about two hours into the 3 hour show, they came and got us so that we could go on stage.  it was nerve wracking, and to be honest, i don't remember much of it. I do remember not knowing what to do with my hands. haha.

After coming off stage, i was amazed at the amount of people that high fived us survivors for being survivors.  Very humbling.

All in all, it was a fantastic evening, one that i don't think I will ever top!

Here are some of the HUNDREDS of pictures that i took.  As you can see some of them are of my favorite wrestler, Roman Reigns. Yes, i admit it, i'm a 59 years old, married, with a daughter, and yes, i love wrestling. Have loved it since the 70's.
